Can you believe that your little bean is about to be turning one? It’s such a big deal! They’ve learnt to smile, babble, roll, crawl and have become the tiny version of who they will grow up to be. You’ll have been very busy soaking in all of the wonders of the baby stage and now your little one is getting ready to take their first steps into the world.
A first birthday deserves an extra special celebration that you will remember forever. Allow me to capture your baby at this special milestone with timeless, adorable portraits that you will treasure forever.
A baby led experience
A first birthday cake smash photography session is entirely baby-led. We will focus on capturing the personality and beautiful features of your child to create stunning, natural portraits.
An addition of simple balloons and bunting while smashing the cake will ensure a festive touch while still keeping your portraits classy and timeless, and for the final bit of fun we will give your little one a chance to splash around in a beautiful tub while I capture them having fun in the water.
WHAT TO EXPECT from a cake smash photoshoot
Part One: Simple, natural portraits
We will start by taking beautiful, timeless portraits of your little one, followed by a few family portraits to mark this special occasion. The introduction of simple props, such as balloons, big letters spelling out ONE and of course the cake will complete the first part…no smashing yet though!
Part Two: It’s cake time!
This is when we will encourage your little one to explore the cake and eat it, play with it and generally get stuck in and make a mess. Some babies need a little more support than others, with parents digging in and demonstrating, but usually, there’s no stopping them! This gives me the chance to capture the most genuinely funny and adorable expressions and poses.
Part Three: Splashing bubble bath
After all that sticky fun, we’ll give your baby a bubble bath. Most babies absolutely love this part – they’re free to splash around and get water everywhere. The general atmosphere in the room is just so happy! Afterwards, it’ll be time to wrap up in a fluffy towel, get dressed and look forward to seeing your beautiful portraits. (I can also pack up the leftover cake for you to take home.)
A beautiful cake is included and allergy-friendly cakes can be arranged.

Step Four: Delivery
I will personally deliver your high quality products, all that’s left to do is to hang your wall art and admire your portraits every single day.

A £49 deposit is payable at the time of booking with the balance of your chosen collection due at the time of your viewing and ordering appointment. You don’t have to choose your collection until you see all your portraits.
Payment plans are available, please ask.
There is no obligation for you to purchase anything at all and I will refund your deposit if you are not happy with the gallery presented. If however you do love your portraits, but aren’t interested in buying a package and would prefer to purchase some prints or products separately, a minimum spend of £349 will apply for birthday and cake smash photography session.
